Going the Extra Mile Winner: Kelsey Hurst

Our Going the Extra Mile programme highlights the great work our team is doing for our workers across the UK, as well as within their own teams. This month, we’re recognising someone who has put in the time and hard work to help out their colleagues and make our upcoming projects a success: Account Manager Kelsey Hurst.

Meet Kelsey

Kelsey has been a member of the PSI Global team since November 2018, working first as a Recruitment Resourcer and now as an Account Manager in our Civils team.

In her current role, Kelsey works closely with her clients on a number of projects, making regular site visits to ensure our workers on site have everything they need. For her, our ‘Workers First’ motto means ensuring everyone is happy on site. “Anything they query we do our best to fix,” she said. “If they are determined they want to upskill, then we can give them that option to book them on a training course to gain the qualification they need for growth in their career.”

One of Kelsey’s nominators was Operations Manager Sarah Ainsworth. The two have worked together for nearly three years, and in that time, Sarah has found that Kelsey’s friendly and approachable demeanour has enabled her to build good relationships both in the office and on-site. “They know Kelsey will help them as much as possible, so in turn, they will help her when she needs information or anything else from them.”

Staying Motivated

While Kelsey stays motivated by things outside of work like holidays and nice nights out, she’s also keen to work hard to achieve her professional goals. As an account manager, that means keeping our workers happy on site, and she explained how important it is to “get out on-site visits to make sure existing clients and workers are satisfied with our services.”

Kelsey doesn’t just work hard for her clients and workers, but for the team at PSI Global as a whole. Recently she’s done a lot of work to help implement new processes, something that stood out to her nominator Sarah. “Kelsey has put in a really good effort recently with the new processes that have been implemented within the company. She’s also worked closely with the admin team to get some internal projects on track.”

What really stood out to Sarah in the last month has been Kelsey’s willingness to help her colleagues while keeping up with an increased workload due to new projects in the Civils team. And while Kelsey continues to motivate her teammates, she in turn is inspired by the work they do, in particular her Civils colleague James Rose. “James inspires me because he is a machine at what he does!”

She’s also learned a lot from the local community and some of the groups that PSI Global has been working with. “There is so much more potential in the area than we realised, such as ex-offenders and women in construction,” she shared. “We can do a lot more with this to help shorten the skills gap in construction.”

Stay tuned as we announce a new winner next month and learn more about another valued member of the PSI Global Recruitment family. If you’re interested in working with us or registering your details for upcoming jobs and inductions, call us now on 0800 009 2997.
