About Train the Painter

Train the Painter is an internationally recognised training programme which is accredited and approved by Lloyds Register.

The Abrasive Blast Cleaner course has been developed by coating experts at the Corrodere Academy. This was in response to the strong demand for certification within the Industrial Coatings industry that now requires personnel working within the Road, Rail, Renewables, and Oil and Gas industries to obtain professional specified certificates.

Train the Painter has three modules including:

• Protective Coatings Applicator
• Abrasive Blast Cleaner
• Sprayer Painter

Course Overview

After building up your knowledge on the Protective Coating Applicator course, this two-day Abrasive Blast Cleaning course is available to further specialise your skillset. This Painter Blaster course provides you with both the theoretical knowledge, as well as a day of practical experience to become qualified to work using multiple blast media.

Abrasive Blast Cleaner is a module of the Train the Painter programme which can be completed to obtain a Silver or Gold Card.

The course can either be delivered in our classroom or through the blended learning model. Blended learning is delivered as a combination of e-learning and practical training. Delegates will complete the e-learning elements of the course remotely from a smartphone, desktop computer, laptop, or tablet prior to the 1-day practical training which is delivered at PSI Global Training’s training centre in Liverpool.

PLEASE NOTE: Delegates must have access to a device and an internet connection to complete the e-learning elements of the course. Upon booking, delegates will be registered for the e-learning elements of the course which must be successfully completed prior to attending the practical training sessions.

Course Pre-Requisites

In order to complete the Train the Painter Abrasive Blast Cleaner module, delegates must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• If students hold less than 1,600 hours of experience, an Orange Trainee CSCS card will be issued.
• If students hold more the 1,600 hours of experience, a Silver ‘Abrasive Blast Cleaning’ card will be issued.
• You must complete Protective Coatings Applicator
