Welcome to PSI Global! As you’re now an agency worker employed by us, it’s important that you understand how you access things like your payslip and payroll, request holiday pay, and be aware of what might be deducted from your pay.
This blog will help to explain some frequently asked questions that we regularly receive from new employees to ensure they receive the information they need. Comment below if there’s something else you’d like to see covered!
Payrolls are run each Friday for the previous week’s hours and should be received in your bank account by close of business each Friday. This of course can only happen if the hours you’ve worked have been signed off by our client.
Each week you’ll receive your weekly payslip, made available through IRIS Open. IRIS Open is an app that can be downloaded through either the Apple or Android store.
An email will be sent to you as part of your registration with us. You’ll just need to follow the instructions in the email and follow the link provided to set up a unique password and download the app. At that point, you will be able to view all your payslips and other payroll documents. Your payslip can not be posted out to you for data protection purposes.
Any issues regarding payroll can be discussed directly with your PSI Global account manager who will liaise directly with our payroll provider to provide a solution.
We all need a break every now and then to relax and clear our minds. As an agency worker for PSI Global, your holiday pay will accrue evenly over the holiday year, running from 6 April to the following 5 April.
Holiday pay can be claimed either when you are on leave or at the end of your employment with us. In order to claim your holiday time, you will need to contact your account manager who will notify our payroll provider of the number of days you plan on taking off. This in turn will be used to calculate your holiday pay. You will need to contact your account manager at least one week before you wish to receive holiday pay to ensure we can put the necessary request in place with our client and payroll partner.
If you haven’t accrued enough holidays, for either a bank holiday or the number of days you plan to take off, then you will receive the holiday pay you’re entitled to. Please note, we do not operate a holiday advance scheme.
Holiday pay itself is employment income and will be subject to deductions of income tax, employee’s National Insurance, and workplace pension (if you are participating). If you have any accrued Holidays when your employment with us ends, it will automatically be paid out.
As an employee of PSI Global, we are legally obligated to register you in the workplace pension when your employment starts. This will be done automatically by our team, so there’s nothing you need to do on your end.
The PSI Workplace Pension is managed by the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST). No contributions are made into the pension for the first 13 weeks of payroll. After this time, we will make a contribution as your employer of 5% of your taxable earnings (the amount we pay is capped). In addition, you will also see a deduction from your net pay of 3% of your earnings (the amount is after tax relief and also capped).
We encourage all of our workers to participate in the Workplace Pension Scheme. This is important in helping to ensure that you have a good pension in place, in addition to the state pension, when you retire. However, if you don’t wish to participate in the pension scheme, then this will be something you need to discuss with NEST. They will send you a confirmation of your participation and options directly to the address provided upon set up.
These are just a few of the things we’re regularly asked about by new employees. But if you want to learn more about something we didn’t discuss here, comment below or email us at marketing@psi-gsr.com.
Additionally, if you have any further questions about the above information, you can call our team on 0800 009 2997. They’ll then direct your call to someone in our team who can help to point you in the right direction.
