September 2024: A New Home for PSI Global

Our big news over the last month is the move to our new head office in Prescot. The new office gives us more space as PSI Global continues to grow and evolve, with two floors that include several areas to welcome clients and guests. The team worked hard to get everything ready for the big day, and we’re all very excited about life in our new home.

The Industrial Services team have had a busy month of networking in September, bookending the month with two events to support the Armed Forces community. Jessica and Sallyanne from our Portsmouth office attended the careers fair hosted by the British Forces Resettlement Services. The event is a great opportunity for the Armed Forces Community to discover and explore new employment opportunities and gain insight into the current job market. At the end of the month PSI Global Training instructor Jonathan attended the Merseyside Armed Forces Employment Fair, another chance for members of the Armed Forces community to meet with local businesses offering employment, training, and apprenticeships in the area. In between these two events, Yasmin from our Plymouth office attended the Seetec job fair during National Employability Week. Seetec Pluss are an organisation Yasmin has worked with regularly over the past few years, helping to get people in the local Plymouth community back into work.

Elsewhere in the Industrial team, our project in Belfast is winding down and we have several Coating Operatives and Scaffolders available for work soon. Additionally, Katie, Jade, and Kelsey from our head office are regularly looking to recruit Industrial Painters, Blasters, and Sprayers for work across the UK. Projects across Europe are continuing to expand, with sites in Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam looking for Pipefitters and Mechanical Teams to start work on hyper scale Data Centre projects. We have also started a large shut down in Cork and are looking for Pipefitters, Electricians, and E&I Technicians. Our Major Projects team have started on new Severn Trent Water jobs around the East Midlands, and they’re always interested in registering Groundworkers, Plant Ops, and ready-made gangs in the region for future requirements. The team are also seeing an increase in work on the South West Water job near Newquay in Cornwall, where they’re also interested in registering more Groundworkers and Plant Ops for future work. They’re continuously registering Shuttering Joiners and Slingers on HS2, and while having a BBV induction is preferred, we’re happy to organise this if you don’t have it. Lastly, they’re looking to speak with any Confined Spaces Pipelayers or ready-made Deep Drainage Gangs for Highways work in Northamptonshire and Worcestershire. Sarah, Leanne, and Jessica from the Social Values Team have been busy holding various employment days with those currently serving sentences that are approaching their release date. The employment days give us an opportunity to share advice on gaining employment upon their release, what courses would be valuable to them, and what sort of job opportunities are available. While rehabilitation support has been a big area of focus, the team are also continuing their support for the Armed Forces community. Sarah and Will recently had a meeting with members of Healthier Heroes, discussing potential partnerships at employment days to share advice on various career paths within the construction industry.
