Springtime Updates from PSI Global

This year is proving to be a productive one for us at PSI Global, with growth across Europe, upskilling our growing workforce in the UK, and more internal initiatives to get people back into work and support the mental health of our workforce.

Our Major Projects team are now working in partnership with JN Bentley and increasing their coverage across Severn Trent Water sites around the East Midlands. The team is getting regular requirements for Groundworkers, Plant Operatives, and Gangers, so make sure you get in touch with James and Liam if you’re looking for work in the area. The team are also continuing with our commitment to upskilling our workforce, starting with Leanne putting forward some of our Steel Fixers on the A66 project for their NVQs. The team have also put forward a Traffic Marshall who is on the BBV HS2 Keltbray site for their Slinger ticket so they can start progressing into that role, and the same for a General Operative on the Audlem WWTW project for their Slinger ticket as well.

Work in Europe is continuing to progress, with our project in Malmo, Sweden growing in labour weekly, as is our project in Frankfurt on another large hyper scale data centre, and two large scale industrial projects in Belfast. If you’re an electrician looking for work in Belfast, make sure you reach out to Luke to apply. We have three more large projects due to start in Sweden over the summer, and another two starting in Berlin. There are further data centre projects starting soon in Dublin and the Nordics, as well as new pharma projects in Dublin and Cork. Get in touch with our team if you’re interested in applying to work on any of these projects.

The Admin team are continuing work on the new payroll system which is nearing completion. They’re in the final stages of testing now and are hoping to have the system launched soon. Two initiatives that were launched by the team are continuing to successfully grow. They’ve held further meetings recently with contacts in the prison system’s education and employment departments, continuing forward with our rehabilitation initiative to get more people from the prison system back into work. The Wellbeing Wednesday emails, part of our mental health scheme, have recently included a mental health survey to gauge how supported our workers are feeling on-site, giving us valuable insight to help us provide further tools for mental health support.

Our Industrial Services team are continuing recruitment on their regular projects in Portsmouth, Rosyth, Plymouth, Newcastle, and Belfast. Belfast in particular is getting busier and going from strength to strength, with a new newsletter going out each month to share site announcements, support information, and employee of the month awards.

PSI Global Training has had the six people that joined them through a Job Centre initiative start on-site with Denholm in Barrow at the end of April. You can see their journey through some of the division’s social media posts on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, with a follow up from our new Industrial Painters coming soon. The training division has also successfully trade tested two inductions worth of Industrial Painters/Sprayers at our dedicated training centre in Liverpool. Trade testing is something we offer to ensure the workers meet our clients high standards before they start on-site.
