Who Did We Work With?

This project was run by Keltbray, one of the leaders in construction engineering. The team at Keltbray manage projects like the one in Cornwall that feature innovative engineering solutions in building and infrastructure.

The Project

Our team have recruited a number of workers on the A30 from Carland Cross to Chiverton. The team on-site is primarily working on structures on a nine-mile stretch of A road. This is currently being widened from a single to a dual carriageway.

What We Did

Our Civils Recruitment Team had, at it’s peak, 110 operatives working on-site for the project in Cornwall. We supplied a wide range of trades that included Groundworkers, Concrete Operatives, Excavator Operators, Engineers, Supervisors, Shuttering Joiners, Steel Fixers, Slingers, Crane Supervisors, Plant & Vehicle Marshallers, and General Labourers.

The project location itself was quite remote, and many of the operatives were from outside of the local area, so ensuring our workforce had accommodation was essential. During the recruitment process, the team sourced several options for local accommodation, including hotels, houses, and flats. Booking these accommodations for our workforce helped to support the local economy while also building relationships to support businesses local to this long-term project.

Throughout the recruitment process, the team helped our workforce with the renewals of CSCS cards when needed, and any training where necessary. This included organising HSG47 training for a number of operatives. The team also had to ensure that all operatives were put through with medicals prior to starting, and complete the onboarding paperwork for each operative. This included induction forms, HAVS forms, Plant Op forms, and medical declarations.

From the start of the project, the team made regular visits to site, ensuring our workforce was looked after and had everything they needed.

The Results

We started working with Keltbray on the project in October 2021, and quicklyl became the largest supplier on-site. At it’s peak, we had 110 operatives on-site who we assisted with medicals, paperwork, and training through the duration of the project. The project was completed in June 2024, and the recruitment team received great feedback from the operatives throughout.
