It’s been another exciting month of growth at PSI Global, with the biggest news from June that we obtained our Principal Contractor Licence, making us an official contractor for Network Rail with some exciting work coming up. We’ll share more in the coming months but read on to find out what else we’ve been up to in June.
We’re continuing to build on our priority of growth in Europe, with projects in Sweden and Germany picking up. Things are also progressing on projects in Ireland and Amsterdam, with the team looking to recruit Pipefitters (Amsterdam) and Electricians (Cork). If you have experience in either area, and are able to work in the EU, get in touch with Luke now to register your details.
Our Major Projects team have had an increase in PTS shifts in London and the surrounding areas. They are regularly in need of PTS Groundworkers and PTS Plant Operators for shifts, so get in touch with James or Liam if you have experience and are looking for work in the area. The team will have more work coming up in Coventry for HS2 and all around the Midlands for Severn Trent. The team will be looking for further Groundwork Gangs in the coming months, so stay tuned to our website and social media channels for availability.
The Training division has had another group from the Job Centre come through to train for a new career opportunity, this follows the six that went through the programme in April and are now placed on-site in Cumbria. Our training centre has also seen quite a bit of trade testing over the last month. Trade testing is something we regularly do for our clients to ensure each worker, whether local or overseas, is able to meet our client’s criteria before starting work on-site. If this is something you’re interested in learning more about for your company, connect with and contact Lee or Rebecca now.
The Industrial Services team have had a busy month with a number of workers starting on a new project in Glasgow, and their ongoing project in Belfast seeing a particularly busy period. The team are currently in need of scaffolders of all grades in Belfast, so if you have experience and are looking for work in the area, contact Brendan now to apply. As the team continues to see growth in each of their projects, they’ve also had growth within their own team as we welcomed Sallyanne Connolly as our Recruitment Administrator in Portsmouth. Sallyanne has been settling well into her new role, and recently joined Portsmouth Recruiter Jessica to drop off a donation to the local baby bank on behalf of ourselves and Denholm, continuing our commitment to helping the local communities we work in.
Our Social Values team are continuing in those efforts to support our local communities and get more people back into work. This includes ex-offenders who are looking for new opportunities and a second chance. Members of our team visited HMP Haverigg in Cumbria this month to provide valuable information on employment opportunities in our industry, a visit that was tied in with a local training company who are providing courses necessary to work in our industry. During the recruitment day, they met with 40 men to give insight and advice on gaining a career in construction upon release, including experience they can gain now. Prior to this, we met with the employment lead for the Cumbria and Lancashire prison group with a view of opening up employment opportunities in both areas for those leaving custody.
Following a public appeal to help support local veterans from The Garage Café, Yasmin from our Plymouth office stepped in to help and donate several items. She also attended a British Forces Resettlement Services event at the end of the month, with members from our Liverpool office attending a similar event in Stafford earlier in June. The organisation regularly puts on job and networking events to support the Armed Forces community in getting into work as they move into their new civilian life. Our commitment to helping the Armed Forces community back into work is something that continues to be a priority for us, and we’re proud to have been awarded the Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence for this continued support.
