Going the Extra Mile Winner: Liam Brooks

Our Going the Extra Mile programme highlights the great work our team is doing for our workers across the UK, as well as within their own teams. This month, we’re recognising someone who has gone above and beyond for their colleagues: Account Manager Liam Brooks.

Meet Liam

Liam has been working in our Liverpool office since May, having been in recruitment for the last three years. During his time with us, his main focus has been on building relationships with our clients and ensuring each project has the right workforce with the right skill set to get the job done.

He regularly checks in with our candidates to see if there is any upskilling necessary and gets them set with the training they need to move forward in their careers. Liam himself is also working to continue moving forward in his own career, saying that “the idea of progressing further in the company and moving into more senior positions motivates me each day.” He shared that his work motto is “work to become, not to acquire.”

Liam was nominated by fellow account manager and team member Leanne Doyle. The two have been working together at PSI since Liam started earlier this year and has shared that some of his greatest strengths are being a team player and always making himself available to help anyone out.

Recently, with much of the Civils team away, Leanne revealed how Liam took the lead to make sure everything was taken care of in the team’s absence. “The rest of our team was either out sick or on holiday over a week or two, and Liam really stepped up, taking on extra tasks to ensure our workers were taken care of. He really deserves this nomination because of that. He’s a good team worker.”

Teamwork and Workers First

Being part of such an important team within the business, Liam is regularly inspired by his colleagues and all the support they offer one another. While he was a big help when his team was out of the office, he’s proven to be a big support system to his team on a day to day basis as well. “We’re all really happy to have him in the team,” said Leanne. “It wouldn’t be the same without him as he’s really uplifting and puts a smile on everyone’s face. He always helps to keep morale up around the office as well.”

In addition to boosting the team’s morale, he’s a hard worker who lives by our company philosophy of putting our workforce first. “Workers first means ensuring all issues are dealt with in a timely manner,” he said. “This ensures each candidate has the best possible view of the company values.”

Looking ahead, Liam is continually motivated by the clients and candidates he works closely with and the projects he’s working on. “Going forward, I hope to further develop the accounts I will be managing,” he shared.
