February Updates from Our Managing Director

We’ve already started growing as a business this year by welcoming four new team members over the last month.

The first to join us in February was Jessica Wilson, based on-site in Portsmouth for our Industrial Services team. We added another member of our White-Collar team with the addition of Jessica Dermott, and Boris Karaivanski joined the Major Projects team in the new role of Client Development Director. Philip Reilly joined us just this week as our European M&E Manager in our Construction and Engineering team, supporting our expansion across Europe. A big welcome to all our new starters as we look forward to our new additions supporting PSI’s growth in 2024.

With the addition of Jessica Dermott to the White-Collar team our portfolio in that area is expanding, and we have since added new clients in Sweden and Denmark as well as continuing our work in the UK. The team have had success across various prestigious schemes of work, including HS2, and are expecting a busy but successful first quarter of 2024.

The Major Projects team have been busy this month with site visits and new starters on-site. We’ve had 5 Groundworkers start on the A66 project in Penrith, with Leanne and Kate making a site visit to check in with them as they started the job. The HS2 Viaducts project in Solihull is progressing well as we now have 14 operatives on-site. We’ll be recruiting more on both of these projects soon, looking for Blue CPCS Slinger/Signallers and Blue CPCS A73 Traffic Marshalls for HS2, and Groundworkers on the A66 project. If you’d like to be notified about these roles as they become available, visit our registrations page to register your details now.

Numbers have been steadily increasing on-site in Belfast, with the number of labourers going up, as well as the number of scaffolders for our PSI Global Scaffolding division. This project is due to run through summer, so if you’re local to Belfast and are looking for work, get in touch with Curtis to register your interest and discuss what opportunities we have available.

Finally, our new Social Value team has been busy attending and planning events. Two members of the team visited HMP Drake Hall, a women’s prison in Staffordshire, for an employment day that involved mock interviews and a discussion about what a career in our industry would look like. We’ve continued with our community initiatives in Belfast with a recent job event and foodbank donation, are looking forward to an upcoming veterans event in Bristol in March, and have launched our mental health initiative to provide valuable support to our team members and workforce.
