Going the Extra Mile Winner: Will Mather

Each month we highlight the great work our team members are doing for both our workers and our clients with our Going the Extra Mile award. This month it goes to Will Mather, an Account Manager from our Construction and Engineering team.

Commitment and Determination

Will joined PSI Global as an Account Manager in our Construction and Engineering team in June 2023. He came to us with just over four years of experience in recruitment, most of it during his time in the Army.

His motivation each day is to help people find work, whether that’s a permanent or temporary position, and he’s had the chance to do that in different ways since joining the company. He shared that his role has gone from being a mixed bag to having more focus. At the minute, Will is primarily focused on UK recruitment and taking ownership of compliance within the team.

It was a recent internal project that caught the attention of the team member who nominated him, Operations Manager Sarah Ainsworth. She noted his commitment, determination, and organisation as things that really stood out about him. “He has been working on an internal project within his team over the last month, and despite it not being the easiest task, has absolutely smashed it! Will is always willing to jump on any task that needs to be completed.”

Construction and Engineering Director Mike Kinealy echoed that, confirming that “Will has been doing really well in all areas, and always does everything we ask of him and more. Definitely worth the Going the Extra Mile award!”

A Great Asset to PSI Global

During his time with us, Will has had the opportunity to work on some exciting projects. “The most interesting project I’ve worked on so far was the project in India. I had to assist in getting three Electricians the right to work and correct permits to allow them to work there.”

In addition to getting to work on these projects and more, Will has also embraced our company culture. He explained that his favourite thing about working at PSI was the culture within the office, and how everyone is “willing to help out, even if they are on a different team. The culture is unique because everyone in the office offers something different and are more willing to share their input.”

Not only has he embraced the culture, but he’s also fit into it very well. Sarah added that Will is always keen to help whether it’s with internal projects and processes or assisting candidates with queries. “Overall, he’s a great asset to PSI Global!”

Looking Forward

Will has a busy year ahead, with his upcoming goals including getting back out on the road to visit clients, while also attending events as a member of the new Social Value Team. He’ll be attending different military events that are aimed at helping service men and women get into work after leaving the forces.

Things have also been very busy for Will outside of work, as he’s currently moving house while he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child. Best of luck with everything in and out of work this year, Will!
